Denim has managed to somehow turn into an own clothing category over the past couple of years. The variety of different shades and fits has never been bigger. I’ve always been a denim lover and wear jeans almost every day. I used to stick to skinny jeans, mostly in dark denim shades. They have become a staple wardrobe item. Over the last couple of months however I found myself leaving my comfort zone and trying new styles and colours and I definitely have to admit: I love it!
Goodbye skinny jeans
Skinny jeans are still going strong and it seams as if it’s a trend that is actually never going to die. But: I’ve not been wearing skinny jeans anymore lately. I feel like they are not as flattering and stylish as other shapes and pant styles. I see them everywhere on the streets and have become kind of tired of them. I have developed a love for high waisted, vintage inspired mom jeans and super high waisted flares.
Hello white jeans
The main actor in today’s outfit is my new pair of white jeans. I found them at Mango last week and immediately fell in love with them. As you guys know, I normally go for dark pants and lighter tops, this time though I wanted to try something new. The jeans have a straight leg and a high waisted fit. I really like their cropped design, the contrasting seams and the rigid denim. I’m really into 90s inspired looks lately, which might be because I’ve started watching the famous Sitcom Full House again. I can’t help but take screenshots of all these extremely fashionable and super cool 90s looks while watching it.
I wanted to keep my look as simple as possible. I don’t like to wear white in combination with bold colours, because it can easily go wrong and look cheap and cheerful. I went for a combination with a black chunky knit, a warm egg-shape coat and black cowboy boots. I decided to wear a white turtle neck underneath my pullover to pick up the white colour of my jeans again. I completed my outfit with my new black and white Aigner clutch. A basic and monochromatic, yet eye-catching look.
