No need to be frustrated by the rain and no need to keep your look hidden anymore. As seen on Miu Miu, Burberry and Chanel clear raincoats are a huge thing this season.
The transparent style is seen everywhere from shoes, to bags, hats and coats. I have already totally fallen in love with clear bags, as you can see here or here. Over the last couple of weeks though, I have also developed an obsession for transparent coats. I love how fashion meets function once again and how versatile they can actually be styled. Raincoats of all types have been trending over the last couple of seasons, but the transparent style seams to be here to stay for a while. Clear coats match with any outfit. They immediately upgrade a simple look and add dimension to the outfit. Why pick out a cool outfit if you have to cover it up outside anyway? This trend however doesn’t hide your outfit, but underlines it.
Set a Clear Statement
Best thing about the new trend: You can get your raincoats out, even if rain isn’t in the forecast and you can wear them with any kind of look. I really love combining my raincoat with an extremely feminine and clean outfit ( I am going to show you in another post), but it also perfectly works with cool street wear. It took me some time to find the perfect clear jacket, since I didn’t want to spend a fortune on something I might only wear one or two seasons, yet not appear cheap and trashy. I didn’t want it to look too much like a funktional jacket, but rather as a cool high fashion piece. In the end, I decided to go for a classic trench style. I love the contrasting black seams and the way they create a tailored fit.
Sometimes you just have to set a statement. The minute I saw this cool Pizzaslime x Fuckjerry hoodie on Highsnobiety, I knew I had to get it. I normally keep my political opinions to myself and enjoy intimate talks about them with my family and friends, but I’m always open for little provocative allusions. Paris fashion week just seemed right to take the hoodie out and get attention.
White Denim for the Win
As you can see in a previous blogpost here, I found favor with white denim. I’m so ready for spring and warmer temperatures. I spotted the jeans at one of my favorite concept stores in Düsseldorf before traveling to Paris. If you don’t know Stylealbum yet, you better check it out immediately. These white Cheap Monday jeans are beyond perfect. I love the wide and flared fit and the cropped leg. Open hems always look extremely fashionable and cool. Black socks, sunnies and heels et voilà, I’m ready!
