Back to the 90s with Skechers

Werbung/ AD: If you are a 90s sneakerhead you will definitely love these throw-back Skechers sneakers. I am a 90s kid and have an undying love for nostalgia. I enjoy going back in time and I’m really into all the impressive fashion trends from the past. In today’s blogpost I will show you that Skechers sneakers are going to be great again this season.

The Ugly Sneaker

One major trend I can think of to define 2017 and 2018 is the rise of the ugly sneaker. With brands like Louis Vuitton or Balenciaga, the special and eye-catching silhouette became a must-have not only beyond fashion enthusiast. You see the ugly sneakers everywhere, from high fashion to affordable streetwear. I’m still craving for the Balenciaga Triple S by the way! Ugly has managed to somehow turn into cool and I’m totally obsessed with the throw-back chunky sneaker trend.( See my blogposts here and here)

Skechers D’Lites

Back in the 90s, Skechers were mostly worn by celebrities like Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. I totally remember seeinig them in all the 90s music videos on MTV. The 90s and early 2000s were one of the greatest times for pop culture, music and street style. Over the past couple of seasons however, 90s fashion is celebrating a major comeback and we rediscover a lot of long forgotten trends again.

Skechers has released some brand-new sneaker designs that are totally street style approved and a must-have for SS18. The typical 90s Skechers have become a contemporary update and are showing off some new and modern silhouettes.

I am wearing the new Skechers D’Lites – Biggest Fan for my sporty back to the 90s look. I really love their sleeker and lighter appearance compared to the original ones back in 1990. The D’Lites are beyond comfortable. Their upper material is made of a soft synthetic leather. The mesh overlay highlights are not only super fashionable but also provide optimal cooling for your feet. Everything about these sneakers screams retro style. I really like how Skechers has managed to create a throwback 90s shoe that picks up the classic retro style yet emphasizes contemporary and fashion forward elements.

My look in details

Windbreakers were THE thing among cool kids in the 90s. I recently found my jacket at Topshop and I’m beyond happy to wear it this season. In the 90s and 2000s you pretty much couldn’t look anywhere without seeing a crop top. Whereas in the 90s, the girls loved to show their bellybutton, I prefer to keep things covered up a little bit more and only like to show small parts of my belly. Casual black pants and my crossover mobile phone case round off my look and add some extra 90s vibes.
